Attention TAMUSA Faculty (April 2027)
Texas A&M University – San Antonio has taken the opportunity to lead our community into a new era of focus on accessibility and equitable opportunities to thrive in our institution. Accessibility in online learning is an area where Texas A&M University – San Antonio has made considerable progress to accommodate all current and potential learners, and our educational technology fully supports accessible content in a variety of formats.
Below you will find resources to help achieve ADA compliance in your course(s):
- Texas A&M University San Antonio’s ADA Compliance Training (Self-Paced): Use the link to register for the self-paced training provided by Texas A&M University – San Antonio’s Center for Academic Innovation.
- Digital Accessibility Policy and Procedures - Academic and LMS Compliance (2026): This document is our standard of procedure for ADA compliance within the LMS and Academic environments for Texas A&M University – San Antonio.
- TAMUSA Syllabus Template (2026): This template is universally designed and can be used to create your syllabus moving forward.
- FAQ for ADA Training (2026): This frequently asked questions document provides a quick reference guide to assist in remediating accessibility issues. This is a great reference after you have completed the self-paced training.
- Blackboard Ultra 8 Week Template (2026): This template can be used to build your course(s). It is 100% accessible, and you can design your course in the UDL (Universal Design for Learning) format that promotes ADA compliance. Email bgerhardt@tamusa.edu to get a sandbox created with the template uploaded.
- Ghost Files in Blackboard: If you are experiencing issues with deleted files showing up on your Ally Course Accessibility Report, email bgerhardt@tamusa.edu for support on removing the files permanently from the course.
